June 13, 2026: Anniversary Gala Evening
Founded in 1960, Toronto Finnish School has been a cornerstone of Finnish language and culture in Canada for 65 years.
On June 13, 2026, we invite our community, partners, and friends to come together for a special Gala Evening celebrating this remarkable journey, and honouring our past, present and future.
Time: June 13, from 4 pm to 8 pm
Venue: Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre, 4 Credit Union Drive, Toronto, ON M4A 2N8
An Evening of Culture, Stories, and Togetherness
This anniversary is not only a celebration of longevity. It is a recognition of the volunteers, teachers, families, students, and supporters who have made the School a vibrant cultural home since 1960.
The 65th Anniversary Gala is a celebration of shared heritage and journey. The evening will feature Finnish music, dance, storytelling, and an exhibition that reflects the history, present, and future of Toronto Finnish School. We will gather to eat, drink, and spend time together - reconnecting with old friends and welcoming new ones.
By purchasing a ticket, you directly support our organization's mission and help ensure that Finnish language and cultural education continues to thrive in our community for the next 65 years.
Program
Enjoy a rich and engaging program:
Live music, featuring actor and singer Mona Hillis, the Toronto Pelimannit, trumpeter Namleen Kaur Mallah, and the Kantele Players
Folk dancing, theatre, and singing
Door prizes, a silent auction, and a raffle
Special exhibition featuring artwork on Finnish culture and identity created by our students.
A celebration of the community, and Suomi-koulu's past, present and future.
This evening is about bringing people together - our current and alumni families, students, volunteers, friends, and supporters.
Dress code: As this is a gala event, we invite you to dress in festive attire and enjoy an elegant evening with family and friends.

Cultural program and live performances. Festive dinner.
Dinner:
Three-course buffet dinner with a variety of delicious appetizers, main course and desserts by a renowned catering company
Main course including roasted chicken, Atlantic salmon, meatballs - and more!
Finnish delicacies such as Karelian pies, beetroot salad (rosolli), and pulla
